Mesotherapy to treat cellulite

What you need to know

Mesotherapy is one of the main medical treatments for cellulite.
Initially, the goal of mesotherapy is to treat pain locally, by injection, without taking oral medication.
Mesotherapy is used in many areas of the medical sector, including pain management, sports medicine and aesthetic medicine.
Mesotherapy, however, should always be performed by a physician with the required training. In addition, strict hygiene rules must be observed by the practitioner, in particular with the use of gloves, the use of single-use needles and the sterilization of the equipment used.

Before the treatment

Mesotherapy must be performed by a doctor who will make a diagnosis, study contraindications and warn you of possible side effects.
Safety and hygiene rules must be respected to ensure that mesotherapy takes place in the best conditions and to obtain an optimal result on cellulite.
Before the session: tell your doctor about the treatments you are taking, do not take aspirin, clean your skin with soap and do not apply cream to the area to be treated.

What does it involve?

Mesotherapy is the injection of a drug product under the skin.
The doctor disinfects the area to be treated and injects a vitamin, mineral and caffeine based product (to reduce cellulite) into the dermis (under the epidermis) using a syringe and a single-use needle 4 to 13 mm in length.
Generally, 8 to 10 sessions of 15 to 20 minutes are required.
Preferably doctors recommend doing:
• 3 to 5 sessions spaced one week apart;
• then 4 additional sessions with 2 weeks between each of them.
There are different mesotherapy techniques.
In addition, thighs and vascular axes are generally "pricked" with a gun, while the belly is treated on the surface with a manual syringe.

About Mesotherapy to treat cellulite

It should be noted that a mesotherapy session lasts about 20 minutes and that it takes on average about ten sessions to one, then two weeks apart to get a result.
Then, it is necessary to schedule maintenance sessions: 3 to 5 times a year.
However, it should be noted that the results of this technique are not miraculous. It is therefore advisable to follow a suitable diet and exercise to increase your chances of success.
