Liposuction removes localized fat overloads.
Localized fat overloads do not disappear, despite diet or exercise.
The principle of liposuction is to introduce, from very small incisions, foam cannulas with rounded, non-edged ends perforated at their ends from several orifices. These cannulas will be connected to a closed circuit in which a negative pressure will be created.
This will allow the harmonious and non-traumatic aspiration of the excess fat cells.
Since these fat cells do not have the ability to remultiply, there will be no recurrence of this overpopulation of adipocytes.
Liposuction can be applied to a large number of areas of the body: "saddlebags" of course but also hips, abdomen, thighs, knees, calves, ankles, arms, back. Technical improvements have also made it possible to extend its action to the face and neck (double chin, oval of the face).
Duration of hospital stay
1 – 3 days.
Often performed as an outpatient consultation. Patients can be hospitalized for up to 3 days if a lot of fat is removed.
Average length of stay
Liposuction is a minor or major surgery depending on the area and amount of fat removed."

A preoperative check-up is carried out in accordance with the prescriptions.
The anaesthetist will be seen in consultation at the latest 48 hours before the operation.
Stopping possible oral contraception may be required, particularly in cases of associated risk factors (obesity, poor venous condition, coagulation disorder).
No medication containing aspirin should be taken within 10 days of the procedure.
Depending on the type of anesthesia, you may be asked to fast (do not eat or drink anything) 6 to 7 hours before the procedure.
Type of anaesthesia:
Liposuction can be performed, depending on the case and the importance of the areas to be treated, either under local anaesthesia or under deep local anaesthesia with tranquilizers administered intravenously ("vigilant" anaesthesia) or under general anaesthesia possibly under local-regional anaesthesia (epidural or spinal anaesthesia).
The length of hospitalization depends on the amount of fat extracted. It can be short, a few hours for small liposuction operations (when local anesthesia has been used). It will be 1 or 2 days in case of more extensive liposuction (performed under general anesthesia).
Each surgeon adopts procedures that are specific to him/her and that he/she adapts to each case to selectively correct the defects present and obtain the best results. However, common basic principles can be retained:
The incisions are short (about 3 or 4 millimetres) and discreet because they are most often hidden in a natural fold.
In some cases, your surgeon may offer you "assisted" liposuction (motorized vibrating cannulas coupled to a radiofrequency, etc.) to facilitate regularity and homogeneity of the work.
The quantity of fat extracted will of course have to be adapted to the quality of the overlying skin, which is one of the determining factors for the quality of the result.
At the end of the operation, a shaping compression to limit post-operative oedema is usually performed using a suitable panty or elastic bands.
The duration of the operation depends on the quantity of fat to be extracted and the number of locations to be treated. It can vary from 20 minutes to 3 hours (on average 1 to 2 hours).
Pain is variable, but it is generally not very important, with a type of soreness, thanks to the use of very small cannulas. They are generally very tolerable with simple sedatives.
Fatigue can be felt during the first few days, especially in the case of significant fat extraction. It is mainly related to anemia and can be prevented by iron-based treatment before surgery.
A normal activity can be resumed 2 to 10 days after the operation, depending on the importance of liposuction and the type of professional activity.
Bruises disappear within 10 to 20 days after the operation.
Wearing an elastic compression garment is recommended for 3 to 6 weeks.
A resumption of sport can be expected 3 weeks after the operation.
The operated areas should not be exposed to sunlight or UV rays for at least 3 weeks.
The result is definitively assessed within 6 months after the operation, it is most often satisfactory, whenever the indication and technique have been correct: liposuction will have made it possible to definitively remove localized fat deposits, while causing significant retraction of the skin.
The purpose of this surgery is to improve, not to achieve perfection. In particular, it should be noted that certain skin irregularities or a "cellulite" appearance may persist even after a perfectly performed liposuction. If your wishes are realistic, you should be very satisfied with the result.
Potential risks Scars, infection, embolism, perforation of an internal organ, seroma, nerve modification, swelling, necrosis, burns (with ultrasound), hydro-electrolytic imbalance, risks related to anesthesia.

The goal is to obtain a chin of natural appearance that blends in with other facial features, is appropriate to the patient's psychology and personality and meets the patient's needs.
The correction of protruding ears requires a surgical procedure, called "otoplasty", to reshape the ear auricles considered excessively visible.
Nowadays, several types of facelifts can be used to improve the ungainly effects caused by aging of the face and neck, either locally or more widely.
Temporal lifting improves the stigmas of aging in the temple region. This region is located between the frontal and cervico-facial regions which can also benefit from a facelift.
